About the game

What you do in a play session

In Man‑Eater, the hunt kicks off when guildmaster Evos loses his bodyguard to a savage man‑tiger creature that flees into the Forest of Thraa. That woods, tangled with ivy and ancient ruins, once hosted a proud town destroyed by a vengeful druid cult. Bleeding from a neck wound, Evos promises three hundred gold crowns to the first adventurer who brings back the beast’s head. This adventure is a module for Four Against Darkness, playable by 1‑4 players in solo or cooperative mode. Each hero moves independently across a black‑and‑white hex map printed inside the book; players can also download a full‑color A3 version for miniatures or paper figures. The core mechanics remain the same: dice rolling for combat, resource management and dungeon exploration, but the scenario focuses on tracking the predator. The map offers multiple paths, random encounters and hidden secrets among the ruins. Components are minimal – just paper, pencil and a few dice – making set‑up easy at home. If you love exploration, tactical fights and monster‑hunting narratives, Man‑Eater provides a tight 60‑90 minute session, perfect as a quick play or a palate cleanser between larger campaigns.
