In Map Maker, you step into the boots of a fearless cartographer in a fantasy realm, tasked with delving into dangerous dungeons to map every corner, creature, and, hopefully, defeat the bosses that dwell within. The game is split into two parts: dungeon delving and boss fighting. First, you descend level by level, facing various encounters and using your hero's stats to overcome challenges. As you go deeper, the tension builds until the dreaded encounter with the dungeon boss. Then comes the second phase: the battle! Each boss is unique, with special abilities and attack patterns that will require different strategies and a good dose of luck with dice rolls. The ultimate goal is to defeat the boss, and then you can fill out your 'Wild Map' with all the collected information, documenting the adventure for future explorers. Each map allows for recording six different dungeons. Completing all of them and filling out the map is your grand achievement. And for eternal glory, the hero who lands the final blow on the boss gets the privilege of having their name etched forever! Map Maker offers physical and digital versions (full-color or printer-friendly PDFs), but remember you'll need to supply your own dice (at least 8 D6) and writing tools. It's a game that requires significant reading comprehension to be played fully.
