About the game

What you do in a play session

Get ready for a new round of asymmetric tactical combat with Maul Peak, the standalone sequel to the acclaimed Skulk Hollow! This time, the smoke of war spreads through the valley, bringing with it the promise of epic battles. A foxen scout is hastily dispatched to investigate the origin of this mysterious haze engulfing Maul Peak, and that's where the adventure begins for you and a friend. In Maul Peak, two players face off in a strategic duel. One takes on the role of a determined tribe of bears, while the other controls a towering, colossal Guardian. The beauty of the game lies in its asymmetry: each side has completely different abilities, objectives, and playstyles, ensuring that every match is a unique and challenging experience full of surprises. The coolest part is that Maul Peak is fully compatible with Skulk Hollow! This means you can mix and match all the Guardians and Heroes from both games. Want to see the bears against the old Guardians? Or maybe the foxen heroes facing the new Guardians? The choice is yours! And if you have a larger group, you can combine the two games for epic battles with up to 4 players, featuring two Guardians against both bear and foxen heroes. The action isn't limited to the main board; the bears must climb and traverse the Guardian's own body, which has its own board and unique routes to try and stop them. Dual-purpose cards give players plenty of movement and ability options, keeping the pace fast and choices agile. With unique bear leaders and Guardians, each game offers a new layer of tactics and strategic depth.
