About the game
What you do in a play session
Skulk Hollow pits two players against each other in an asymmetric duel: on one side a towering, dark Guardian that has risen to terrorise the four kingdoms of Børe’s ancient forest; on the other, a band of heroic foxes led by the Foxen King, determined to slay the beast and reunite the realms. Each player commands their forces via Command Cards that allow moving units, summoning reinforcements and triggering special abilities. The Guardian uses a limited pool of Action Points to advance, attack and protect its vital parts, while the foxes manage their hand of cards to plan coordinated strikes and hop onto the Guardian’s board, aiming to dismantle the monster piece by piece. The Guardian wins by eliminating the Foxen King or gathering enough Tribute, whereas the foxes win by destroying the Guardian entirely. The game blends Hand Management, Action Points and Variable Player Powers, forcing tactical choices each turn. Components include animal‑themed meeples – foxes, red pandas, mice, black‑heart bunnies and the monster – giving the animal‑versus‑monster theme a tangible feel. In roughly 40 minutes, with a light learning curve (weight 2.2/5), Skulk Hollow offers a fast‑paced, strategic combat experience that appeals to duel‑centric gamers and lovers of whimsical animal fantasy alike. The Tribute mechanic adds pressure on the Guardian, while the foxes must balance risk and reward when leaping onto the monster’s board. Perfect for two players seeking short, intense, highly interactive matches.
