About the game

What you do in a play session

All hands on deck, board game sailors! Merchants Cove: Master Craft arrives to supercharge the experience of the acclaimed Merchants Cove. This big-box expansion means business, bringing a whole new expansion called 'The Faction Festival,' which adds a new board to connect to the main one. This new piece of the map opens the door to new mechanics and interactions with the game's factions, each with its own quirks. The Wizards, for instance, will boost the value of your goods with enchantments, while the Rogues can lend you a hand (or a backstab?) to get rid of unwanted corruption by pinning it on opponents. Furthermore, Master Craft injects more modular content into the mix, with new Rogues and Townsfolk to add color and challenge to your games. And if you like to vary your merchant lineup, get ready: four new expert Merchants are here to innovate your strategies. Oh, and don't forget the new Paladin Faction Hall, featuring new Adventurers (the Paladins themselves), more Townsfolk, and Rogues. It's endless content for those who already love the base game and want to dive headfirst into new possibilities and strategic challenges. If you're looking to expand the Merchants Cove universe with more depth and options, this is the right call!

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers before you buy

6 questions
Do I need the base Merchants Cove game to play Master Craft?
Yes, absolutely! Master Craft is an expansion, so you need to own the base Merchants Cove game to use all this new content.
How many players does this expansion support?
The expansion maintains the base game's player count (1-5 players) and adds more options and content for all those counts, including an enhanced solo mode.
Does Master Craft make the game more complicated?
Yes, it adds more layers of strategy and new mechanics, especially with the 'Faction Festival.' If you've already mastered the base game, you'll enjoy the extra challenge. If you're new, it might be better to start with the base game first.
How much time does the expansion add to the game?
Expect a slightly longer playtime, perhaps an extra 15 to 30 minutes per game, depending on your familiarity with the new mechanics and the number of players.
What are the main new features Master Craft brings?
The big news is the 'Faction Festival' with a new board and unique mechanics for each faction. Additionally, there are four new expert Merchants, more modular content, and new characters like the Paladins.
Is it worth it for those who mainly play solo?
Definitely! The expansion adds more depth and variety to the solo mode, with new options and challenges that will please those who enjoy playing alone.
