Imagine being a hero loyal to the king, but thanks to a curse from the wicked Vanestra, you've been turned into... a mouse! In Mice and Mystics, you and your friends take on the roles of these tiny adventurers who must navigate a castle that, from their perspective, has become twenty times larger and infinitely more dangerous. What used to be a simple hallway is now a deadly labyrinth filled with traps and terrifying creatures.
The game is fully cooperative, meaning teamwork is everything: either you work together to warn the king and defeat the villain, or you'll end up as a snack. You can choose from characters with distinct abilities: Prince Collin, a master fencer; Nez Bellows, the burly smith; Tilda, the castle's former healer; and Maginos, a wizened mage. Each player's role is vital for the group's survival.
As you explore, you'll face hordes of cockroaches, spiders, and hostile rats, but the ultimate nightmare is Brodie, the castle's housecat. To survive, you'll utilize the 'Cheese System,' collecting precious crumbs to unlock grandiose new abilities and upgrade your mice to overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.
The game stands out for creating an interactive and dynamic environment, where the story unfolds as you progress through the missions. It's almost like a tabletop RPG, featuring multiple maps and a rich campaign that keeps players talking about their exploits long after the session ends. If you love the idea of being a tiny hero in a giant world, this is the adventure for you!
