About the game

What you do in a play session

Prepare to set sail in 'Misty Waters: At the World's Edge', an epic historical fiction adventure that throws you right into the Age of Sail! As the captain of a sailing ship, you'll brave unknown waters, where danger and wonder hide in every wave. The board depicts a vibrant archipelago, with sea lanes guiding your destiny, but beware: the wind is a crucial factor, influenced by a detailed weather panel that forecasts the next two days. Planning is key, as maximum speed can be the difference between glory and shipwreck.

Upon landing on mysterious islands, you'll uncover exploration cards filled with adventures, encounters, and treasures... or perhaps plagues and dark creatures. Keep your crew at full strength and your action cards ready! The islands also host trading posts and taverns, perfect spots for striking profitable deals, gambling (perhaps with other players?), and accepting risky missions. Each player builds a personalized deck of action cards, an arsenal of tactics, experts, and equipment that can turn the tide in your favor. With up to two ships per player and the presence of game-controlled threats like pirates, sea monsters, and even the dreaded Flying Dutchman, naval battles are guaranteed.

The goal? To become the governor of the Misty Waters, whether through election, island conquest, or the legendary pursuit of the Conquistador Treasure. 'Misty Waters' offers complete flexibility: play in teams, cooperatively, or solo. Adapt the experience for longer or shorter games, more or less randomness, more serious or purely fun play. A true journey for those who love strategy, exploration, and a touch of daring on the high seas!
