About the game
What you do in a play session
MonsDRAWsity is that party game that turns any gathering into a showcase of creativity and laughter. The goal is simple: one player takes on the role of the "Witness" and has just 20 seconds to look at a strange creature in an image. Then they describe the creature to the other players, who are the "Sketch Artists." Each artist tries, on the spot, to draw what they heard, using dry‑erase markers on an appropriate surface. When time’s up, everyone shows their drawings and the Witness votes. The artist who most closely matches the original creature earns points. The game runs in short sessions, 5 to 30 minutes, and works well for 3 to 8 players. There are no complex rules – the fun comes from speed, creative interpretation, and friendly competition. The creature cards are varied, with fantasy, science‑fiction, and monster themes, ensuring each round is unique. If you enjoy drawing, improvising, and seeing how people’s imaginations can surprise you, MonsDRAWsity is the right pick. It’s perfect for parties, family gatherings, or even for breaking the ice at corporate events. The only drawback is the need for drawing space or keeping markers out of reach of small children. But overall, it’s a light, fun game that keeps the crowd laughing. Each round starts with distributing a creature card, which contains a detailed image and a cryptic name. The Witness has a 20‑second timer to look at the card and then describes the creature aloud, avoiding words that directly reveal the name. The Sketch Artists jot down their observations and then have 30 seconds to sketch. After everyone finishes, the Witness reads the descriptions again, and players vote on who did the best interpretation. The winner gets 2 points, while the others get 1 point if the drawing is close. If no one draws well, the Witness can pick a loser to receive 1 consolation point. The game continues until someone reaches 10 points or the predetermined number of rounds is completed. The quick pace and focus on communication make MonsDRAWsity an excellent exercise in active listening and collective creativity.
