About the game
Start your engines! Monza is a fast-paced, colorful race perfectly designed to introduce children to the world of board gaming. The goal is straightforward: be the first car to cross the finish line. However, it's not just about luck; there's a touch of tactical thinking that makes the experience much more engaging.

Here is how it works: on your turn, you roll six dice. Each die features different colors, and you must match these colors with the spaces on the track directly in front of your car. If the die color matches the space, you move forward! After each move, that specific die is set aside. The challenge lies in the three-lane track and the obstacles that can block your way. Changing lanes is only possible if the neighboring space is further ahead than your current position, forcing players to plan their moves carefully to avoid getting stuck.

To add some healthy competition, if you land on a space already occupied by another car, you bump the opponent back to the next available space in that lane. This creates constant shifts in the lead and keeps everyone on their toes. While the official age recommendation is 5+, the game is intuitive enough for 3 or 4-year-olds to join in, helping them with color recognition and basic logical reasoning. With quick sessions lasting about 15 minutes, it's ideal for a short break or for those who prefer straightforward rules. Featuring the classic wooden components HABA is known for, Monza is one of those 'gateway' games that brings the whole family together for some lighthearted fun.
