Get ready for an exciting and adrenaline-filled race in Can't Stop, a timeless classic by Sid Sackson that will test your courage! In this super fun dice game, the objective is simple, but the decisions are agonizing: you need to be the first to conquer three of the eleven columns on the board. Each column corresponds to a possible sum of two six-sided dice, and here's the clever twist: columns with more probable sums (like 7, of course!) are longer, requiring more rolls to complete.
On your turn, you roll four dice, and the magic happens when you form pairs. Let's say you rolled 1, 4, 5, and 6. You could combine 1+4 (making 5) and 5+6 (making 11), or maybe 1+5 (making 6) and 4+6 (making 10), or even 1+6 (making 7) and 4+5 (making 9). Choose the sums that interest you most and advance your progress markers in the corresponding columns. But be careful, you can only work on up to three different columns per turn!
After advancing, comes the million-dollar question: will you roll again and risk it all, or will you stop and secure your progress, turning temporary markers into fixed points of your color? If you push your luck and the roll doesn't allow any valid moves (meaning you can't form pairs that correspond to open columns or columns you're already advancing), poof! All progress for that turn is lost. It's a delightful 'push your luck' game that keeps you hooked from start to finish, and with every roll, you feel that thrill. Oh, and if you like trivia, know that it had a predecessor in 1974, called The Great Races, which was a paper-and-pencil game!
