About the game

What you do in a play session

Picture a crew of daring adventurers on a quest to unearth ancient temples brimming with secrets and arcane runes. In Mystery of the Temples, players take on the role of a "Curse Breaker," traveling between the wilds and temples to gather colorful crystals from around the globe. The core mechanic revolves around an "Action Queue": everyone selects their moves simultaneously, then they’re resolved in a predetermined order, creating a strategic rhythm that forces you to outthink your opponents. After gathering crystals, players place them on their personal Crystal Grid—a mosaic board where the correct color sequence is key. When the sequence is perfect, the crystals’ power fuses, breaking the temple’s curse and awarding runes and victory points. The "Area Majority / Influence" mechanic kicks in as players vie for control of temple zones, while the "Pattern Recognition" mechanic turns color matching into a visual puzzle. Each player has unique abilities thanks to the "Variable Player Powers" mechanic, ensuring every game feels fresh. The goal is to break five curses; the player with the most victory points at the end wins. With a playtime of 20‑40 minutes, Mystery of the Temples delivers a quick yet deep experience—ideal for fans of card games, set‑collection, and colorful pattern challenges, yet also accessible for casual, fast‑paced sessions with friends.
