About the game

What you do in a play session

Mystic Vale: Vale of Magic arrives as the first expansion for the celebrated Mystic Vale, adding 54 new advancement cards and 18 Vale cards that blend directly into the base deck. The goal remains the same – evolve your avatar using the card‑crafting system – but now there’s a wealth of new material to combine, opening up even more creative strategies. Some Vale cards feature "When bought" triggers, causing instant effects the moment you acquire them and adding an extra tactical layer. The expansion also places a slight emphasis on Guardian Power, giving players new protection and control options that can swing the game. Like the base game, the core mechanic is deck, bag, and pool building: you add cards to your personal pool throughout the play, shaping your deck as you go. The "Push Your Luck" element appears on certain cards that let you gamble for bigger rewards or risk penalties, keeping tension high to the very end. Suitable for 2–4 players, a game runs about 45–60 minutes and retains a light 2.2/5 weight. If you already love the original, Vale of Magic feels like a free content upgrade, yet it also serves as a friendly entry point for newcomers to the card‑crafting system. Get ready to experiment with fresh combos, test Guardian powers, and have a blast as your deck evolves with each purchase.
