Oceania is a fast‑paced maritime exploration game for one or two players, perfect for anyone who loves building a map in a handful of minutes. Each turn you place an explorer ship on one of the three circular edges of the board and draw a sea tile. The tile may only be placed if water borders water and land borders land, causing the map to grow organically. As the tiles interlock, islands of various shapes and sizes appear, ensuring that no two games look alike. The goal is to control the largest land areas: at the end of the game the player with the majority influence on the biggest islands wins. In the two‑player mode each competitor tries to claim the most valuable islands, contesting space and blocking the opponent. In the solo variant you play against your own record, aiming to create ever larger islands and score higher. The rules are lightweight (weight 1.4/5), the components minimal – just hexagonal water and land tiles – and a typical play‑through lasts 10 to 30 minutes, making it ideal for quick sessions or as a warm‑up before a heavier game. While the tile‑placement mechanic is easy to grasp, the strategic decision of where to drop your ship and which tiles to draw can be surprisingly deep, demanding forward‑looking planning.
