Picture the perfect camping night: a crackling campfire, the smell of roasting marshmallows, and the soothing sounds of the woods. Now, imagine that instead of snacks, a horde of zombie animals is charging at you, hungry for your brains! Welcome to Oh My Brain, a fast-paced card game where the goal is simple yet desperate: get rid of all the cards in your hand as quickly as possible. If you run out of 'brains' (your life tokens), you turn into a zombie and lose the round.
The core mechanic is a numerical climb. On your turn, you must play a card onto the central pile that is higher than the current top card. But it's not just about going up! You can play a '0' to reset the pile, or an '8' to force the next player to play a lower value. Cards like the '11' grant you an extra turn, while other special cards trigger a die roll that can cause absolute mayhem: stealing brains from friends, swapping campfires, or playing again.
Success depends on smart hand management and keeping an eye on your 'campfire' (your personal card holder). If you can't make a move, you lose a brain token and must draw cards to replenish your hand. If you manage to empty your hand, you win the round and punish your opponents based on how many cards they are still holding. It's a high-speed game, perfect for those looking for quick fun, a touch of dark humor, and plenty of player interaction. Get ready, because the forest is hungry!
