About the game
In Outpost, you step into the shoes of a space magnate aiming to build the most prosperous outpost in a distant colony. The goal is straightforward: accumulate 75 victory points. To get there, the strategy involves building and managing factories that produce essential resources. With these resources, you can expand your infrastructure by constructing more factories to boost production, or invest in 13 unique outpost improvements. These improvements offer diverse advantages, from optimizing production and expanding storage to increasing your base's population capacity. The key twist is that acquiring these improvements happens through intense auctions, where each player can win several per round. The game unfolds over three distinct phases, and with each new phase, a fresh set of improvements becomes available for bidding. Each staffed factory and implemented improvement grants victory points, with values ranging significantly – a simple ore factory is worth 1 point, while a moon base can yield an impressive 20 points! The competition is fierce, and the first to reach the 75-point mark claims victory. The game's mechanics have been revisited in other titles, showcasing its solid design.
