About the game
Overboss: A Boss Monster Adventure is a quick, 20‑to‑30‑minute board game that places players in the shoes of rival boss monsters racing to conquer the Overworld. Each turn starts with an open draft: players pick terrain tiles—forests, swamps, caves, camps, graveyards, dungeon entrances, and more—from a shared pool and then place them on their double‑sided boards. The goal is simple: amass the greatest amount of Power, which increases as you form larger sets of terrain. Simultaneously you manage monster tokens that score points when grouped or placed on matching terrain. The challenge lies in balancing optimal placement, set values, and disrupting opponents’ plans. With 1 to 5 players, including a solo mode, the game offers a strategic experience that rewards careful planning and blocking tactics. The component list is generous—over 120 terrain tiles, 100 monster tokens, five double‑sided boards, and a scorepad—all organized in internal trays for quick setup. If you’re a fan of the Boss Monster series, enjoy fast drafting games, or seek a strategic challenge in a brisk tempo, Overboss delivers a satisfying mix of strategy, luck, and pixel‑art flair.
