Get ready for an experience that goes far beyond a simple game of Pandemic! In Pandemic Legacy: Season 1, you and your team of disease-fighting specialists embark on an epic cooperative campaign that unfolds over 12 to 24 sessions, depending on your group's success in containing the threats. Initially, the game closely resembles classic Pandemic: you race against time to travel the world, treating infection hotspots and researching cures for four diseases before they spiral out of control. Each player has four actions per turn to move, build research stations, treat diseases (removing cubes from the board), trade cards with teammates, or find a cure for a disease (discarding five cards of the same color at a research station). Each character possesses unique abilities that facilitate these actions. After taking actions, two cards are drawn, which may include epidemic cards that add new disease cubes and can cause outbreaks, spreading infection and increasing cities' panic levels, making them harder to access. Each game month, you have two chances to achieve the objectives. If successful, you advance to the next month. If you fail, you get a second chance with more resources for beneficial event cards. The big twist of the Legacy format is that the campaign introduces new rules and components that permanently alter the game. That's right: you'll write on cards, tear them up, and place permanent stickers on the board! Your characters can gain new skills or detrimental effects, and even be lost forever. It's a unique and unforgettable journey where every decision shapes the future of the world and your own story.
