About the game
In Pantheon, you play as an ancient leader vying for the gods' favor. Each player controls a Mediterranean civilization (Egyptians, Romans, etc.) competing to build impressive monuments. The game blends strategy and divine luck: you gather resources, make offerings to the gods (from dancers to lavish temples), and use special powers granted by these capricious deities. Each round, you choose whether to travel the map (blocking opponents' routes with wooden footprints), trade resources, or invest in monumental constructions. But beware: the phase order constantly shifts, and the gods may surprise you! With six rounds and two scoring phases, Pantheon is a medium-weight game (2.75/5 on BGG) that balances tactical planning and direct player interaction. Perfect for mythology fans and players who enjoy mechanics requiring constant adaptation.
