Patchistory is a strategy game that lets you craft your own history using cards that stand for famous heroes, monuments and pivotal events. The game unfolds over three ages, each with a larger board – 5×5 in the first, 6×6 in the second and 7×7 in the third – where you place cards so they overlap, creating layers that trigger special abilities. Cards are bought through auctions, and you can score via diplomacy, internal politics, military movement, production and other actions. The abilities of a card depend on its position and the cards it covers, so each era opens new combo possibilities. The game blends Action Points, Alliances, Auction/Bidding, Grid Movement, Income, Layering, Open Drafting, Simultaneous Action Selection, Tile Placement, Track Movement, Voting and Worker Placement, giving you many strategic paths: territorial expansion, negotiation, or economic development, according to your play style. Playtime ranges from 60 to 120 minutes and the moderate weight (3.8) makes it approachable for both seasoned civilization gamers and newcomers. After the third age, the player with the most victory points – earned through clever combos and smart decisions – wins.
