About the game
What you do in a play session
Get your best poker face ready, because in Phantasmic, magic is only half the battle; the other half is the art of deception. You are part of an elite squad where duelists test their limits in fast-paced and intense confrontations. The goal? Prove that you are the master of counterspells and the shrewdest strategist in the room.
The dynamics revolve around rotating duels. Each turn, the player in the Leader position chooses a Challenger and targets them with a spell. The Challenger then plays a counterspell and must declare whether their card is stronger or weaker than the Leader's. This is where the game shines: the Leader must decide whether to believe the Challenger's claim or call their bluff. If the Leader guesses correctly, they keep the crown; if they fail, the Challenger takes over and becomes the new Leader.
It's not just about luck, though. Each spellcasting style has specific abilities that allow you to turn the tables, turning a desperate situation into an unexpected victory. The tension ramps up quickly, as the game ends when someone wins three duels or when one unlucky player loses three times. If a player is defeated three times, all other players share the victory!
As a Button Shy microgame, Phantasmic delivers a dense experience in a tiny format. It's the perfect game to keep in your pocket, play anywhere, and spark hilarious arguments among friends in under 15 minutes. Can you read your opponent's mind, or will you fall into the trap of a well-placed spell?
