Pirate's Cove

Prepare to set sail for the legendary Pirate's Cove, the hideaway of the most feared pirates and buccaneers on the seven seas! In Pirate's Cove, you take on the role of a captain seeking fame and fortune, navigating mysterious and contested waters. Your objective is to become the most renowned pirate, accumulating fame through victorious battles, burying treasures, and, of course, many tales told at the tavern.

The game unfolds over 12 months (rounds), where at the start of each month, all captains secretly choose one of the six islands to visit. The simultaneous reveal of routes can lead to fierce combat if more than one pirate lands on the same spot. Combat resolution involves dice rolls and your ship's strength, where the goal is to intimidate rivals to be alone on the island and collect your reward. Staying in combat too long can damage your ship, so you need to know when to fight and when to flee. Fleeing sends you back to Pirate's Cove with a small compensation.

After combat, each island rewards pirates with gold, treasures, or tavern cards, in addition to fame points. Some islands are more valuable than others, creating strategic dilemmas and bluffs. With accumulated treasure, you can upgrade your ship – sails for speed, hull for cargo, crew for combat, and cannons for attack. There's also Treasure Island, where you can bury your loot to convert it into fame, the ultimate goal. Beware of Legendary Pirates, who appear to challenge even the boldest, but defeating them yields significant fame! At the end of the game, "tall tale" cards can boost your reputation. Pirate's Cove offers an immersive and fun pirate life experience, blending strategy, luck, and plenty of plundering!
