About the game
What you do in a play session
Planta Nubo drops you into a post‑apocalyptic world where towering Arbors are humanity's last hope. Up to four players (or solo) must turn scorched earth into cloudy gardens brimming with energy‑rich flowers and plants. Each round begins with an action draft: you select moves for bots, power modules, or gather resources, using Action Drafting to block or open options for opponents. Contracts set goals for oxygen or green‑energy production, and fulfilling them grants valuable bonuses.
Tile Placement comes into play as you fit polyomino plant pieces onto garden plots, creating combos that boost output. Worker Placement lets you assign workers to the Arbor, Oxyfarms, or platform bots, converting harvested flowers into biomass‑converted energy or generating desperately needed oxygen. Special bots – the garden bot and platform bot – receive energy to activate modules that give extra powers, like speeding growth or improving Oxyfarm efficiency.
The win condition is straightforward: the player who produces the most oxygen by game end wins, symbolizing atmospheric restoration. Playtime ranges from 30 to 120 minutes depending on player count, and the game carries a medium complexity (weight 3.9/5), balancing deep strategy with accessibility. Components feature polyomino tiles, resource tokens, contract cards, and bot miniatures, all illustrated in a solarpunk‑meets‑lush‑forest style. If you enjoy economic games with an environmental twist and love mixing worker placement, action drafting, and board building, Planta Nubo delivers an immersive and visually striking experience.
