About the game
What you do in a play session
If you love a tactical challenge that fits in your pocket, get ready to command a heavy war machine! Pocket Landship is an expanded version of an award-nominated print-and-play card game that puts you in command of an imposing 'Landship' (the classic British term for tanks). The vibe is pure steampunk, featuring stunning aesthetics inspired by public domain artwork from World War I. Your mission is straightforward but tough: clear an enemy sector of infantry, artillery, and dangerous enemy mechs.
The beauty lies in your customization options. You can choose to pilot a single, ultra-powerful Landship equipped with heavy cannons and support units, or assemble a more diverse squad featuring shock troops and corvettes. On the flip side, the enemy won't play nice; they arrive in waves organized in card rows, including landmines and heavy artillery.
The gameplay is snappy and efficient: you roll three six-sided dice and decide how to assign that power to your cards to launch an attack. But don't get too comfortable—the enemy fights back! On their turn, you roll the dice again and apply the results across the enemy's front line. Each card features its own damage track, and if your primary unit is destroyed, it's game over. Wipe out all enemy cards to secure victory. It's a fast-paced combat experience, perfect for players seeking a dose of military strategy without the need for a massive table or hours of setup.
