About the game

What you do in a play session

Poi-Poi is a party game where the fun revolves around deduction and, let's say, a certain 'prejudice' – but in a good way, of course! The goal is to guess which secret monster is being described, using only subjective impressions. The game begins with eight monster cards face up on the table, alongside a row of question cards. One player takes on the role of the Leader and secretly draws a card that tells them which of the eight monsters is the 'target'.

The Leader then describes that monster using a single subjective impression, without mentioning its name, color, or shape. Think of something like: 'the one who always asks for a little extra when splitting the bill.' The other players, together, choose a question from the row and ask it. The Leader answers as if they were the hidden monster. On a count of three, everyone points at the monster they believe is the correct one. Each player who points correctly scores 1 point, and the Leader also scores 1 point for each correct guess. But here's the catch: if everyone guesses correctly, the Leader scores nothing at all! And if no one guesses correctly, the Leader loses 1 point. The key is to give a hint that lands perfectly for some, but not for everyone. Play continues until everyone has been the Leader once, and the player with the most points wins. The game comes with 31 monsters and 31 questions, ensuring plenty of replayability and laughs!
