About the game
Imagine a building on fire and you and your crew of firefighters must act fast and with precision. In Pompiers!, the action unfolds through a clever trick-taking game where the goal isn't just to win everything, but to complete specific missions to prove who is the most efficient professional on the team. The game uses a deck divided into four colors, ranked from 1 to 15, and the dynamics revolve around controlling the table to hit precise targets.

Each hand begins by revealing a card from the kitty to determine the trump suit. The gameplay follows classic trick-taking rules: you must follow suit if possible, and the highest trump card wins. If no trump is played, the highest card of the lead suit takes the trick. An interesting detail is that the tricks you win are organized in a 2x5 grid marked by tokens, helping you visualize your progress toward your goals.

The heart of the game lies in the missions. There are Basic Missions, which can be achieved in every hand, and Emergency Missions, which are unique challenges that can only be completed once per game. Some missions require you to win exactly one trick, while others demand that you avoid winning any cards of a specific color. It's the kind of game where, sometimes, losing on purpose is the only way to succeed! After 5 rounds, points are tallied (5 for basic and 2 to 4 for emergency missions), and the player with the highest score is crowned the hero of the day. It's a fast, tactical experience, perfect for those who love calculating risks and trying to read their opponents' hands.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the game hard to learn?
Not at all! If you've played any trick-taking game (like Hearts or Bridge), you'll pick it up in minutes. If not, the rules are simple enough to learn as you play.
How long does a game take?
It's very quick, lasting about 30 minutes, making it great for playing multiple sessions in a row.
How many players can join?
The game is designed for groups of 3 to 5 players.
Does the firefighting theme affect the mechanics?
The theme provides a fun flavor for the missions, turning trick-counting into 'rescue operations'.
Is it a heavy or complex game?
It's quite light (1.75 weight on BGG). The complexity lies in the strategy of which mission to pursue, not in the rules themselves.
