About the game
What you do in a play session
PowerShot Soccer is a two‑player card duel that pits national soccer teams against each other in fast‑paced, adrenaline‑filled matches. Each player picks one of ten licensed squads – Brazil, England, Italy and others – and receives a deck that mirrors the real team’s strengths and weaknesses, such as slick dribbling, pinpoint passing, or a rock‑solid defense. The goal is straightforward: score more goals than your opponent before time runs out.
Gameplay unfolds in turns where each player gets a pool of Action Points. Those points can be spent to play attack, defense, movement or special‑ability cards, forcing tactical choices each round. Attack cards can be powerful but often rely on good positioning or a well‑timed pass, while defense cards let you intercept or block the rival’s advance.
On top of Action Points, each team brings Variable Player Powers that grant unique abilities – Brazil’s long‑range strike, England’s precise crossing, Italy’s interception prowess. This asymmetry ensures every match feels distinct depending on the selected nations.
The game is ultra‑accessible: rules are learned in minutes, a match lasts about 20 minutes, and the learning curve is shallow, yet the strategic depth is surprisingly rich. It’s easy to pack and play anywhere, making it perfect for a video‑game break, a friends‑night, or anyone wanting a bite‑size World Cup thrill. If you love soccer and enjoy quick‑decision card games, PowerShot Soccer brings the pitch to your tabletop.
