Presto is a board game that turns music theory lessons into a blast of fun. The board, styled like a musical staff, loops around the play area with the notes of the scale, each marked with its name in lowercase letters. Each player receives four pieces that must travel along the staff until they reach the victory zone, called W‑I‑N‑S. To move, players flip cards that indicate the letter of the note they should land on. At first, it’s normal to look up the note’s name, but as the game goes on, participants start recognizing the position of the notes just by their visual placement, which aids in sight‑reading. Movement can go forward or backward depending on the revealed card, and the goal is to be the first to place all your pieces in the victory zone. The game is designed for children and beginners, but it also works as a review tool for musicians who want to sharpen their quick‑reading skills. The “open drafting” component lets players choose from the available cards, adding a simple layer of strategy. The set includes 48 cards, 16 pieces (four of each color) and the board, all in a compact format that makes transport and storage easy. The learning mechanic is effective because repetition and visual recognition of notes are reinforced in a playful way. For adults looking for a light pastime, the game might feel a bit simple, but for those who want to improve their musicality in a practical and fun way, Presto is an excellent choice.
