About the game
What you do in a play session
Shingo! is a quick, light set‑collecting game that’s perfect for players who enjoy making combos without the hassle. Designed for 2‑6 players, a round runs about 10‑30 minutes, fitting nicely between a game of Uno and a longer session of Catan. The goal is straightforward: build a hand of seven cards and, each time you pick a card, place counters on your personal mat matching the pink‑star symbols shown on the card. Each card displays several symbols across different locations; whenever a pink star appears in a spot, you drop a counter on the same spot of your mat, even if there’s already a counter there or if another card shows a nought or cross in that position. The game starts with a facedown deck in the middle and three face‑up cards beside it. On your turn you choose one of the three, add it to your hand, and put the appropriate counters. Then you refill the revealed area with the next card from the deck, always keeping three options visible. Once every player has seven cards, the round ends and scores are tallied based on counters and any bonuses outlined in the rules (such as completing rows or specific collections). The components are minimal—just cards, counters, and a printable score mat—so set‑up is a breeze. Open drafting keeps the flow lively and gives everyone a chance to affect what others can grab, adding a subtle “who’s blocking whom” tension. Because it’s a Print & Play title, you only need to print, cut, and you’re ready to play, making it ideal for impromptu game nights or for trying something fresh without breaking the bank.
