About the game
What you do in a play session
ReCURRRing brings the adrenaline of card climbing to 3 to 5 players in a 30‑minute session. The deck contains 57 cards: numbers 1 to 9 with multiple copies and 12 special ‘R’ cards. With fewer than five players, some cards are removed to balance game strength. The goal is to collect cards, because the player who runs out of cards at the end of a round earns points for the cards they have captured. The climbing mechanic works like this: the starting player lays down a card; the following players may pass or play a higher set, which can have at most one more card than the previous set. If someone plays, they take the earlier cards into their hand. When everyone passes, the cards are removed from play and the most recent player starts the next round. The game is divided into three rounds, and the winner is the one with the most points. The experience is fast and intense, with simple tactical decisions that require constant attention. The point system based on captured cards adds a slight long‑term strategic element, but most choices happen in a few seconds. The aesthetic is minimal: simple card faces, a bright deck, and short rules. It’s ideal for those who enjoy card games that combine direct competition with value climbing, but who don’t want complex narratives or expensive components. In short, ReCURRRing is a light yet engaging card game that rewards quick perception and the ability to outplay opponents on every turn.
