Riddle of the Ring

Tolkien's masterpiece, you can choose to be one of four brave Hobbits, tasked with carrying the One Ring to the Cracks of Doom and surviving. Or, if your darker side calls, you can embody one of the four Black Riders, desperately trying to capture the Ring and take it to Barad-Dûr. Each player is in an individual race against all others, adding an extra layer of tension!

Although the map of Middle-earth is present, the game is driven by cards, which are your tools to overcome the challenges along the way. The map itself can be an obstacle, but it also offers strategic locations to draw more cards. These cards can aid you in combat, ease movement through difficult terrain, or offer other advantages. Your turn involves moving, interacting with other players (the "Friendly Exchanges"), and using "Power Plays," which can include peeking at opponents' hands, stealing cards, or even initiating battles. Sounds simple, right? But don't be fooled! Strategy unfolds in clever combinations of movement, tactical card play, and, most importantly, how you orchestrate your "Friendly Exchanges" and "Power Plays" to maximize your chances.

For those who enjoy a more collaborative experience, optional rules allow for team play, with the Hobbits versus the Black Riders. And for the boldest, a two-player mode where one player controls all the Hobbits and the other controls all the Black Riders intensifies the rivalry. "Riddle of the Ring" is an accessible adventure that rewards planning and cunning, perfect for fantasy fans seeking a thematic and engaging experience.
