About the game
What you do in a play session
Risk: Star Wars – Original Trilogy Edition brings the classic territorial conquest feel of Risk to a galaxy far, far away. Up to five players pick between Rebels, Empire or Hutts, each faction with its own win condition: Rebels must locate and destroy the hidden Emperor, the Empire must wipe out all Rebel forces, and the Hutts aim to control 10 of the 13 resource‑rich planets. The board maps the planets of the original trilogy, and unit movement follows Area Movement rules, while majority influence in regions decides planetary control.
The game pulses with faction cards that introduce iconic heroes and villains – Luke, Han, Darth Vader, Boba Fett – and ships that boost attack strength. The Empire can unleash two Death Stars to terrorise opponents, while Rebels gain "The Force" by smashing Imperial bases, reinforcing their troops. Secret Unit Deployment and Dice Rolling add the suspense of a space duel.
Detailed sculpted components, including ship miniatures and the two Death Stars, blend Star Wars nostalgia with modern mechanics like Variable Player Powers. A typical game lasts about two hours, perfect for fans of strategy, the Star Wars universe, and epic territory‑control battles. Though the learning curve is gentle, the multiple factions and distinct victory goals may require a little extra focus in the early rounds.
