Grab your wizard hat and wand, because classes at the Triora School of Magic are about to begin! In Ritus, you aren't just any student; you are an apprentice of the ancient arcane arts, striving to prove you have the wisdom to become a master sorcerer. But don't think it's just about reading spellbooks—the tests at Triora are rigorous and demand sharp strategy to avoid embarrassment in front of the class.
The gameplay is a true test of reflexes and planning. In each round, you'll look at your knowledge cards and decide, in secret, which one to use to complete one of the 'Ritus' currently open on the table. The catch? Nobody waits for anyone else; action selection is simultaneous! When the cards are revealed, speed and priority determine who gets to cast their spell first. It's that tense moment where you pray your card is the 'fastest' to secure your spot in the rite.
Beyond trying to complete your own objectives, there's a touch of magical mischief: the round monitor. If you manage to take on this role, your mission is to make life difficult for the other apprentices by attempting to block rites and prevent them from completing their tasks. The ultimate goal is to accumulate prestige, whether by emptying your hand of cards or being the monitor who halts everyone else's progress. It's a fast-paced, dynamic game perfect for those who want a dose of fantasy without spending hours reading a 50-page manual. If you enjoy card games where every choice matters and reaction time is key, Ritus will have you hooked on your magical studies in no time!
