Imagine yourself as an ambitious general contractor in the 1920s, during the golden age of urban expansion. In Rolling Heights, your goal is to turn the city into a monument to your success, but there's a quirky twist: your workers are literally meeples that you roll just like dice!
The dynamics are simple yet tense. When you roll your meeples, those that land standing up are ready for work, providing construction materials and special actions. Those that land face-down? Well, they've decided to take the day off and produce nothing. This is where the big dilemma comes in: you can push your luck and re-roll to get more active workers, but be careful! If you push too far, you might lose precious materials essential for your construction projects.
As you complete buildings, you gain prestige and, more importantly, new workers. With a larger crew, you can tackle increasingly ambitious projects, moving from small houses to towering skyscrapers that dominate the skyline. The game blends the adrenaline of 'push your luck' with the satisfaction of seeing the city physically grow on the table. Do you have the audacity to build the city's next historical landmark, or will you let the competition take all the fame? Put on your hard hat and good luck with your rolls!
