About the game

What you do in a play session

In *Romaria*, you’re the organizer of Portugal’s most traditional festival — the Romaria de Nossa Senhora d’Agonia! Your goal? Create the most impressive parade, featuring Mordomas, musicians, Gigantones, and other iconic elements. The game blends tableau building and card drafting: each round, you’ll play a card from your hand to expand your parade, placing it strategically next to existing cards. Watch out for the market — the order for picking new cards depends on the value of what you’ve played! Collecting pieces of traditional costumes (Lavradeiras) and fulfilling secret objectives (Lugares de Viana) can swing the game. In the end, the player with the most prestigious parade — scoring points for number sequences, card combos, and completed costumes — wins. It’s a thematic game packed with tough choices between draft priority and tableau synergies. Get ready for a strategic celebration!
