About the game

What you do in a play session

Scooby‑Doo! : Betrayal at Mystery Mansion brings the award‑winning Betrayal at House on the Hill formula into the world of the mystery‑solving gang. For 3‑5 players, each takes on Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne or Fred and ventures into the mansion and its grounds. The modular board is built as characters explore, revealing rooms, clues and odd events. Dice are rolled to move, search for clues, or face unexpected situations, while miniatures bring the setting to life. Once enough clues are gathered, the "haunt" triggers: one player flips to become the traitor, assuming the role of a monster or villain, using unique cards and items to fulfil a sinister plan. There are 25 haunts inspired by classic episodes and movies, each with different monsters, items and objectives, ensuring no two games feel the same. The game blends exploration, cooperative storytelling and the tension of a traitor, all in 25‑50 minutes. Components include detailed miniatures, room tiles, clue cards, event cards and monster tokens. Role‑playing mechanics give each character thematic abilities, while storytelling drives the narrative smoothly. It’s perfect for those who enjoy light games, love nostalgic themes and appreciate a good twist, though players seeking deep strategic depth may find the dice luck a bit heavy. In short, it’s a fun, easy‑to‑learn experience packed with surprises that will please both Scooby‑Doo fans and fans of light betrayal games.
