Goal of the Game
In Scythe: Gambit of the Winds, players take on the roles of faction leaders in an alternative Europe, where airship technology revolutionizes expansion and conflict between empires. The goal is to expand your territory, collect resources, and achieve supremacy through strategy and diplomacy. The game ends when a player places their sixth star on the Triumph Track, or according to the conditions specified by the Resolution Module. The winner is determined by the final score, which takes into account controlled territories, resources, stars, and other factors.
Setup
To prepare the game, follow these steps:
- Position the main board and distribute the components according to the Scythe base game.
- Each player receives the airship corresponding to their faction's color and places it in their base.
- Shuffle the airship aggressive (red) and passive (green) ability pieces separately. Reveal one of each type and place them near the encounter deck. All airships will have these two abilities combined.
- If using the Resolution Module, shuffle the resolution pieces, select one at random, and place it face up near the Triumph Track.
