About the game
What you do in a play session
Shadows Upon Lassadar: Siege at Kurth is the final chapter of the second trilogy in an epic fantasy universe that pits you, one of the last Wardens, against the dreaded Dread Barons. In just 10 minutes, the game tests your resource management, rapid decision‑making, and resilience to an unforgiving siege. You start with an 18‑card deck, three six‑sided dice, and a set of euro‑cube markers representing the Barons’ forces, your mana, spirit, and the game rounds. Each round consists of four turns split into four phases: upkeep, movement, attack, and siege‑loss check. During upkeep you draw new cards and place attack markers on unprotected locations. In movement you can advance one to three locations clockwise, or use the passage if you rolled a double. The attack phase involves rolling dice, applying modifiers, and comparing against the siege force’s attack strength; you may invoke spells to alter the outcome. If fewer than three locations are overrun or your spirit doesn’t drop to zero at the end of a round, you survive. Otherwise, you lose. The game offers a solitary but intense experience with card‑driven campaign and battle mechanics, area influence, dice rolling, and a push‑your‑luck element. If you enjoy short, high‑stakes, defensive city scenarios, this game is a great pick, though it does require some translation or translated cards to play in Portuguese.
