About the game

What you do in a play session

Sherlock: Death on the 4th of July is a card game that puts you and your friends in the shoes of detectives from the “Q System – Sherlock” series. Each game features 32 clue cards that you must reveal, discard, or use carefully. On each turn, a player chooses to either play a card onto the table (and narrate it aloud) or discard it face down, with no further discussion allowed. The Communication Limits rule forces you to reveal only what’s allowed: bold words or images. Revealing irrelevant information costs you points at the end, so you have to be strategic. Once all cards are either revealed or discarded, the team assembles a theory of what happened using the remaining clues. Then a questionnaire pops up: each correct answer earns two points, but each irrelevant clue revealed subtracts a point. The goal is to score as high as possible, which requires memory, deduction, and a lot of strategic talk. The game runs for 1–8 players, lasts 40–60 minutes, and has a medium difficulty curve, though the communication limits can trip up novices. If you love mystery, deduction, and want to test your memory in a team setting, Sherlock will surprise you. The murder‑in‑mansion theme adds a suspenseful vibe that blends with cooperative play and the need to remember every detail. In short, Sherlock is a collaborative puzzle that demands focus and strategy, perfect for fans of investigative games with a dash of humor and challenge.
