About the game

What you do in a play session

Space Maze Rollercoaster is a tiny expansion that adds three "Rollercoaster" cards to the action deck of the base game. Before each session the group decides whether to use it, because these cards dramatically shift the gameplay toward chaos and away from tight tactics. When the expansion is in play, the relic tile must not sit on the board edge, as the rollercoaster effect pushes whole rows of tiles. The card lets you, when activating an alien, pick a column where that alien resides, take the tile at the end of that column and place it on the opposite side, shifting every other tile one space forward. Any aliens on the moved tiles travel with them, creating hilarious "space rollercoaster" moments. The effect adds unpredictability and fun, ideal for groups that enjoy light, twist‑filled games. Distributed for free at Essen 2011, the expansion is often seen as a bonus for fans of the base game. It’s not advisable to simply shuffle the cards into the deck as ordinary actions; they should be treated as a separate set that can be turned on or off each game. In short, Space Maze Rollercoaster injects a dose of controlled chaos, perfect for players who want laughs over rigid strategy.
