About the game
What you do in a play session
Spike puts you in charge of an expanding railroad company in the early 20th century USA. Your goal is to build a network of tracks connecting cities, pick up and deliver goods, complete contracts, and modernize your trains to transport more cargo and amass wealth. Each player starts with a contract that defines an initial route and must expand their rail network to reach more cities and deliver more goods. During the game, you can upgrade your engines, railcars, and transport capacity to increase efficiency. On your turn, you move your train, collect goods, fulfill contracts, and build new tracks. The game ends when the track deck is exhausted for the third time, and the player with the most money wins. Spike is a strategy game that combines network and route building with the pick-up and deliver mechanic, offering a challenging and engaging experience.
