About the game
Hey everyone! Ready to get your hands dirty and become Australia's biggest wool tycoon? In "Squatter" (which, by the way, was the nickname for sheep farmers Down Under), you and up to 5 friends will step into the boots of these "squatters" and compete to see who's the best at raising sheep. Each player starts with their own sheep station, a bunch of pastures, and plenty of sheep to kick off the journey. The goal is straightforward: make money by selling your sheep and, of course, the wool, which brings in good cash once a year (each lap around the board). With cash in hand, the idea is to invest heavily: improve pastures, install irrigation... anything to make the flock happier and more productive. But hey, don't think it's all smooth sailing! Along the way, you'll face the real struggles of Australian farmers: sheep diseases (yes, "Foot Rot" is a thing!), tractor accidents, and even the dreaded droughts that can ruin everything. The game ends when one farmer manages to irrigate all their pastures and stock each one with 6 "pens" of sheep, totaling 30. Whoever achieves this wins the title of the greatest "squatter" around! One cool thing is that there's no player elimination; everyone plays until the very end. Released in 1962, "Squatter" is an Australian classic, a cultural icon that made history, selling over half a million copies and becoming Australia's most successful board game.
