About the game
What you do in a play session
Sum Attack! Addition & Subtraction is a super dynamic card game where the goal is to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible, all while boosting your addition and subtraction skills. Designed by a California-certified math teacher, the game was created to help kids aged 5 and up become proficient in basic math. Each player starts with 7 cards in hand. On your turn, the idea is to play a card that matches the top of the discard pile, either by color or by value. The cool thing is that equation cards count as their answer – so, a '4' can be matched with another '4', with a '2 + 2', or even with a '6 - 2'. And for the younger ones, there are icons on the cards that work as built-in counters, making it easier to solve equations. If you can't play, just draw a card. The first one to empty their hand wins the round! But hold on, there's more: action cards turn the game upside down. 'Reverse' changes the direction of play, 'Brain Freeze' skips the next player, 'Double Trouble' makes the next player draw two cards, and 'Wild' and 'Wild Draw +4' cards can be played at any time. Oh, and the 'Sum Attack!' card is the icing on the cake: it makes players add the values of the last two number cards played and then distribute that many cards to opponents, with a limit of 6 cards per player. The deck comes with 121 cards, ensuring lots of fun and learning.
