Welcome to the kingdom of Sweet Lands, where the former monarch ate so many sweets that he left a final decree: whoever builds the most magnificent city will become the new ruler. You and up to three fellow players receive a personal hexagonal board, cards, wooden tokens and a set of 14 characters, each with unique abilities that alter the way you play. The game unfolds over five rounds; each round you place territory tiles, construct buildings, hire workers and gather sugary resources to advance on prosperity tracks. The ultimate goal is to amass the most victory points after the fifth round, using tactics of tile placement, resource management and leveraging each character's variable powers. Sweet Lands blends the depth of heavy Eurogames—over 200 cards and tactical decisions—with a candy‑filled theme reminiscent of a confectionery park. In addition to the 1‑4 player competitive mode, solo rules let you challenge your own board for efficiency. High‑quality components, such as colorful wooden tokens and illustrated cards, provide a visually appealing experience. Although the complexity is moderate (weight 4.16/5), the learning curve is gentle thanks to a well‑structured tutorial. In 100‑200 minutes of play you’ll feel the tension of balancing sweet production, territorial expansion and temporary alliances with townfolk. In the end, the player who best combines hex‑grid mechanics, tile placement and variable powers claims the crown of Sweet Lands.
