About the game

What you do in a play session

The realm is in danger and the sword that protects us has shattered! The king is not playing around and has summoned the finest blacksmiths in the land for an urgent mission: forging a new legendary blade. In Swordcrafters, you step into the role of a master artisan in a frantic competition to see who can craft the most incredible weapon. But don't be fooled; it's not just about hammering metal; the secret lies in the precision of the cut and the harmony of the gems.

The gameplay is super agile and uses a very clever 'I Cut, You Choose' mechanic. Each round, players take turns making cuts in a grid of sword tiles. The goal is to divide this grid in a way that you can grab the best piece for your own weapon during the next phase. It's a game of pure reading: if you cut in a way that helps your sword, you might end up leaving the perfect piece for your opponent!

After the separation phase, you assemble your sword and keep it on the table, building your glory visually. Scoring is what separates masters from apprentices. You'll earn points based on the length of your blade, its quality (looking at adjacent matching gems on one side), and its magic (summing the most powerful gem types). It's a fast-paced puzzle game where every cutting decision can change the fate of your forge. If you enjoy quick abstract strategy games that fit into a coffee break but make your brain work a little harder, Swordcrafters is your next obsession!
