About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready for an extra dose of Egyptian mischief with the "Warmth of a Cat" mini-expansion for Tekhenu: Obelisk of the Sun! This little gem adds 8 adorable cat meeples to shake up your game. Each round, instead of recruiting a scribe, you can use the Bastet action to place one of these mischievous felines on top of a house built by an opponent. The owner of the affected house gains a bonus, choosing between two happiness points or a random blessing. It's a clever way to disrupt others' plans while still ensuring a small advantage for your opponent (and for you, in a way!).
But beware, cats don't count as houses during final scoring, and each house can only host one feline at a time. Oh, and no placing a cat on your own construction, got it? For those playing with Botankhamun, things get even more interesting: he will never place a cat, will always opt for two happiness points when a cat is placed on one of his houses, and even starts the game with 4 extra VP. This mini-expansion, released through a Gamefound campaign, brings a new and fun dynamic, perfect for those who already enjoy the base game and want to add an extra touch of strategy and interaction.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers before you buy
Does this expansion add many new rules?
No, it's a mini-expansion focused on a specific mechanic, adding the cats and their interactions with houses. The base game remains the same.
How many players can use this expansion?
It's for 1 to 4 players, just like the base game Tekhenu: Obelisk of the Sun.
Does the game's complexity increase significantly with the cats?
The complexity doesn't increase drastically. The addition of cats introduces an extra layer of interaction and tactical decision-making, but the rules are easy to grasp.
Do I need the base game Tekhenu: Obelisk of the Sun to play?
Yes, absolutely! This is an expansion and requires the base game to be used.
Do the cats change the final scoring of the game?
No, the cats themselves do not score points. They serve as an interaction tool during the game, influencing players' actions and the bonuses received.
Is this expansion hard to get?
As a mini-expansion released via crowdfunding (Gamefound), it might be a bit harder to find in regular stores after the campaign. It's worth looking on marketplaces or with other players.
