About the game

What you do in a play session

In The 7th Continent: Facing the Elements, you and your expedition team brace for snowstorms, tornadoes, scorching heat, and other harsh weather lurking deep within an uncharted continent. The game is fully cooperative: each player controls a paper figure representing a member of the expedition, and everyone must work together to survive and achieve the mission’s objectives. The board is modular, made up of tiles placed randomly at the start of each game, ensuring no two adventures are the same.

Challenges come in the form of cards representing natural elements, monsters, and random events. When a storm card is drawn, for example, you might have to move your figures to a shelter or use action cards to mitigate damage. If the weather turns extreme, the group may even lose resources, so card management becomes crucial.

The game supports 1 to 4 players, but the solo mode lets you test your skills against nature itself. Playtime ranges from 5 to 1,000 minutes—short 20‑minute sessions to marathon 3‑hour games—depending on how many cards you decide to use. Components are simple: five paper figures, five plastic stands, 40 cards, and a modular board.

For those who enjoy immersive storytelling, exploration, and cooperation, The 7th Continent: Facing the Elements delivers a rich, unpredictable gameplay experience. Every session unfolds unique narratives as cards are played, making each round a fresh and thrilling adventure.
