About the game
Picture it’s the early 20th century and you decide to sail back to the newly discovered seventh continent to lift the curse that has haunted you since your last expedition. In The 7th Continent, a solo or cooperative "choose‑your‑own‑adventure" exploration board game, you pick a character and begin your journey alone or with a team of fellow explorers. Inspired by the Fighting Fantasy books, you uncover the wild new land through terrain and event cards. In a world fraught with danger and wonders, you must use every ounce of wit and cunning to survive, crafting tools, weapons, and shelter to keep yourself alive. Unlike most board games, it can take many, many hours of exploring until you finally discover how to lift the curse—or die trying. Luckily, The 7th Continent features a simple save system so you can stop playing at any time and resume later, just like a video game. The Classic Edition includes three curses to face – “The Voracious Goddess,” “An Offering to the Guardians,” and “The Bloody Hunt” – and contains 849 cards, two storage trays, 34 dividers, nine cardboard figures with plastic stands, eight dice, a 24‑page rulebook, and one player aid. It differs from the Collector’s Edition, which was released via two successful Kickstarter campaigns, in that it lacks all Kickstarter exclusives (one curse, two characters, 113 adventure cards, and component upgrades such as plastic figures, a discard pile holder, and a magnifying glass).
