About the game
What you do in a play session
Get ready to explore the mysterious Iron Valley! In The Boldest, the forgotten creatures of the forest have awakened from their long slumber, and you have been summoned by your king for an epic mission. Your goal is straightforward but requires deep strategy: lead your faction to glory by defeating mechanical monsters and retrieving enigmatic artifacts to accumulate as much experience as possible. If you can stand out, the title of 'The Boldest' will be yours!
The game shines through its strategic planning mechanics and constant tension. Each round is divided into three expeditions into the forest. The real challenge lies in hero management. You start with a faction of 17 heroes across five distinct classes: Warriors, Technicians, Hunters, Cooks, and even Pets (who are versatile and can join any class!). During the planning phase, you must secretly form three groups of heroes, hiding your choices behind a screen. But watch out: not every group will succeed!
In the action phase, groups are revealed, and only the strongest group of each class gets to execute its main action. If your group wins, your leader goes on a mission and is removed from the game, while the others rest for the next round. If your group is too weak, you keep your heroes but must recruit new ones to compensate for the lost time. Additionally, the environment changes with each expedition, requiring you to anticipate how the forest will behave. Featuring stunning illustrations by Max Prentis that bring this rich world to life, The Boldest is a hand management and action programming experience where reading your opponents' next moves is the difference between becoming a legend or being forgotten.
