About the game
What you do in a play session
The Cursed Castle places you in command of three hunters who venture through the forgotten halls of a cursed castle, hoping to purge the ancient evil that dwells within. Each round begins with a dice roll that determines the available action options. You can choose to manipulate, re‑roll or allocate the dice to overcome traps, defeat armies of minions, or face mortal overlords guarding the castle’s depths. The combination of cards and dice creates a progression system where cards represent equipment, skills, and events that can be used to craft powerful combos, while dice provide the necessary randomness to keep tension high on every decision.
As you progress, your group discovers artifacts that boost combat capabilities, learns new skills that allow you to re‑configure the dice layout, and creates combos that can turn the game in your favor. However, building power isn’t enough: keeping the heroes alive in a brutal environment demands careful planning, as each defeat can lead to death, corruption or madness. The ultimate goal is to survive long enough to reach the final boss and defeat it, ending the curse. If all characters die, become corrupted or go insane, the game ends.
The game is designed for a single player, lasting 25‑45 minutes, making it perfect for quick sessions or for those seeking an intense solo challenge. Typical components include a deck of action cards, a set of six‑sided dice for rolling, status tokens representing health and sanity, and a modular map that reveals the castle’s rooms as you advance. The dice‑rolling mechanic combined with card management creates a rich gameplay experience that requires both strategy and luck. If you enjoy dark fantasy narratives, tactical challenges, and the thrill of exploring a castle full of secrets, The Cursed Castle promises hours of fun and replayability thanks to the countless card combinations and the dice’s randomness.
