About the game
What you do in a play session
In The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – Foundations of Stone, the hero team departs from Rivendell on a quest to uncover the root of the Orcs’ increased activity. Their journey takes them deep into the mines of Moria, where natural hazards and unorganized Orc hordes challenge them at every turn. As they progress, the path leads them into the Foundations of Stone, a dark and treacherous place that holds ancient secrets and creatures that are hard to describe. This fifth Adventure Pack of the Dwarrowdelf series brings 60 new cards, including a brand‑new hero and three copies of each player card, allowing the team to experiment with fresh strategy combinations. The scenario introduces a new plot that traps the heroes in underground currents, sending them to a sinister realm where nameless things lurk. To play, you must own the core set and the Khazad‑dûm expansion, as the scenario relies on cards and rules found only in those packs. The pack preserves the cooperative and hand‑management spirit of the LCG, but adds nuances of variable player powers, making each session unique. If you already own the LCG base and enjoy exploring new tales in Tolkien’s universe, Foundations of Stone offers a rich narrative and tactical challenge, with an underground adventure atmosphere that keeps the team alert and collaborative at every decision.
